Look Good...Feel Better

Look Good...Feel Better is one of the services in the UK helping to support women with cancer. First introduced in 1994 by the cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery association, it is supported by the beauty industry.

Look Good...Feel Better offers free make-up workshops through a network of hospitals and cancer support centres nationwide. From small beginnings the programme is now available in over 50 locations within the UK and 19 countries world wide.

After the shock of being diagnosed with cancer, many women are then devasted by the distressing side effects of their treatment which can dramatically change their appearance and body image. Look Good...Feel better helps these women in a very practical and positive way.

How can Concessions agency staff get involved?

Look Good...Feel Better depends upon the help of its volunteers who give up their time to support each 2 hour workshop. Workshops are held weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on each hospitals requirements. Concessions are offering agency staff the opportunity to volunteer on an as and when required basis nationwide. Volunteers are not required to hold full Make Up Artist qualifications but have experience within the cosmetic and beauty industry. Having the personality and attitude to help make workshop guests have a fun, lively and informative experience is essential.

Rachael Stevenson, Concessions's Retail and Beauty Manager, is a volunteer herself at two hospitals local to the agency office,
